Synopsis

After violently murdering his mother and her lover, a comatose patient named Patrick uses his psychokinetic powers to terrorize the staff of the hospital in which he is confined. When a pretty young nurse, just separated from her husband, begins working at the hospital, she senses that Patrick is trying to communicate with her, while others are being killed in the cruellest ways. What is Patrick's secret? An incredibly creepy ending helped to insure this film its cult classic status.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scary, weird and inventive, 30 Oct 2007
This used to be shown quite a lot on British TV, although I suspect the 70s clothes make it a challenge for schedulers nowadays. The film is really scary in a creepy rather than blatant or particularly graphic way. It's also way ahead of much of the current crop of 'horror', in that it uses atmosphere and subtle effects. Well worth checking out, and Susan Penhaligon is as excellent as ever!

4.0 out of 5 stars Scary Down Under, 26 Mar 2004
I saw this film years ago as a teenager with my best friend, Laura. It scared the sh*t out of us. I don't remember many details, which is why I ordered the DVD when I noticed it had been released. It concerns (I think, I'll find out soon when I pluck up the courage to watch it) a young man in a coma who has psychic powers. He comunicates only by spitting and I think it has something to do with his mum - the film, not the spitting. I think it's worth a tenner. I might not be as scared this time, but I remember it was an excellently made horror film, from an unlikely source
