Patricia Barrett was born to Irish parents, and immigrated to South Africa as a child where she enjoyed guaranteed sunshine. She is the youngest of five children, and when the family began leaving South Africa to return to Ireland, Patricia followed suit in 1997 and has been living in Co. Cork since then. Her career started off in Secretarial and Administration, and later developed into a qualification in Counselling, Analytical Hypnotherapy, and Psychology. Her main line of work is Motivational Speaking; however, her love of English and writing is something she has carried with her throughout her colourful life and she dedicates as much time as she can to her first love.
"If you can't lighten up and laugh a little along the way, Life can be a very demanding place to be," she says, in particular of the work she is involved in. Writing provides her with an outlet to express her quirky side and her novel PINK FREUD is indicative of this.
She is an avid animal activist, and spends as much time as she can walking her dogs with like-minded people on a local field, to clear her head. After that, she does the same as everyone else, from shopping to cleaning, and taking good care of her daughter.
