Pathway to Earth centres on these very questions as Laserians discover an 'alien' satellite that has travelled through a connector, a hole in space and has crash-landed on their world. They send a ship back through it to make contact with the 'alien race' (humans). However, some of the humans they encounter, including an ambition-driven Vice President, set in motion a 'grand plan' that not only puts the President of the United States in danger, but also, Earth itself.

Great Science Fiction story,

I'm glad I took the chance and read this. It's good to see that a virtually unknown author like Barnes is still writing novels; it's a pity that authors like him haven't been taken on by a major publisher. I only came across this after entering Michael Barnes in the search engine just to see if he had followed up his first novel Against Time. To my surprise he had not written a sequel but luckily I found this. The story is excellent and is well told throughout. I like the way the author has written it mainly from the alien perspective. I hope this novel does well as I would like to read more from this author.

This is the second book I have read by Michael Barnes and is even better than his first, Against Time. Barnes has the ability to breathe new life into a rather stagnant genre. The story, written mostly from the viewpoint of the 'alien' race is refreshing. It covers many of the classical elements including action, adventure, romance, politics, betrayal and revenge. The story at its heart, covers the 'hot' topic of the moment, the environment. The characterization is good and is a real page turner, I read the 336 pages within a week. The story could be made into a good film! Here's waiting for the author's next!
