Ram Dass, one of this century's greatest Spiritual Teachers presented this as a series of Workshops at the Naropa Institute in Boulder in 1974.Although the Bhagavad Gita has been one of my Life's precious Holy Books for many years,I only recently bought this Ram Dass book.I read 2 or 3 books most weeks and this is probably the most important book I have read in the last 25 years. Page after page is filled with insights that have needed several days to live with, digest and put into practice. My entire outlook on my physical and Spiritual life has changed because of this book. I have bought many Ram Dass books and tapes over the years. All superb. This is the crowning glory. Wish i had read it sooner!!!Thank you Ram Dass..

Fantastic book 21 Nov 2010
By Ogmios
Format:Paperback
I highly recommend this book. It took me ages to read this book, not because it is a very long book, but because what was in it made me often stop reading and pondering philosophical the concepts the author was putting forth. It made me do lots of pondering between paragraphs and the like (and for this reason I easily lost my place). I was in hospital at the time and found it be a great spiritual support in a very negative environment.

Certainly, what is presented here is a spiritual classic - the author goes through many topics, in particular I found his explanations of reincarnation and karma to be very insightful and gave me new perspective on these ideas.

The book also has some charming and fascinating ancedotes about Ram Dass life with Baba and his adventures in meditation - I found the story about his meditations with the Zen masters Koan very entertaining.

A book writetn with great wisdom and humility from a modern spiritual master. If you are just a little bit interested in these topics - I'd highly recommend this book.

This book captivated me from beginning to end, Ram describes wonderfully frank stories of his humanness in his own development and time with Maharaji in India. He normalises the struggles we all have on our paths of awareness and purification and sets out some great approaches we could take. For examlple, I now love singing mantras and feel it is indeed bringing me closer to God, opening my heart. Bless you Ram!
