I have a collection of the Pathfinder books and would recommend all, with a caveat for one, to anyone thinking of walking in the areas covered by the guides.
The walks are split up into three categories - easy, medium and more strenuous - and are located on a map of the area within the first couple of pages to give an idea of travel time and ways to get there.
The individual chapters on each walk start with a fact box that includes things such as resume of the walk, GPS coordinates, overall distance walked, time taken to walk and parking places. Each walk also contains a highlighted route on a colour OS map along with some very detailed descriptions about each stage that the walk is broken up into.
The only thing that I would watch out for is that the back cover has a map that suggests that the walks in the book do not include the East Neuk of Fife (Anstruther, Crail, Pitenween etc). However, contrary to the map on the back there is a rather good walk included for this popular tourist area.
Overall, this is an excellent guide with excellent, varied walks for all ages and abilities and for less than £10 it's a bargain. Thoroughly recommended, especially Walk 26 a wonderfully remote walk in a beautiful landscape.
