A great starting point 12 Oct. 2010
By Aaron Sherman - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I was new to Pathfinder, and I wasn't sure what to buy, but my local gaming store had this book, and I needed a city to set my game in. I was glad I picked this up! Absalom's history dove-tails with that of the Inner Sea as a whole, and reading the history section gave me an excellent feel for the state of the world.

Much of the work in this book is of the finest sort I've seen in an RPG, and the art is phenomenal, walking the fine line between realistic and fantastic with style.

If you're looking for a book full of crunchy statistics, spells and feats, this isn't it. If you want to get your feet wet in the setting of Golarion's Inner Sea, this is an excellent place to start and ultimately a key reference in any Inner Sea campaign, especially those that will take place within the city.

City at the Center of the World 6 Jun. 2010
By Michael D. Briggs - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This book covers the city of Absalom, one of the largest cities on Golarion, the setting of the Pathfinder RPG.

Over 4000 years old and created by the god Aroden himself, Absalom is a major trading hub and although it has been attacked many times, it has never fallen. It is also the home of the Starstone. A legendary artifact that can grant godhood, but be warned only a few have succeeded, and Cayden Cailean was too drunk to remember how he did it ;)

The rest of the book covers all aspects of the city, all districts and some of its secrets. This is a great book if your PCs wish to operate out of the city or just want a memorable visit to Absalom.
