We went on a walking holiday to Wales and bought this for the occasion, never having been to the area before. The only complaint is that there is another book in the series (Mid Wales) that overlaps considerably with this area, so unless you buy both, you could miss out on some great walks in your local area.
We did 3 walks from this book, starting with a short, easy walk on the afternoon of the first day - it turned out to be a complete hike up some very rough, steep terrain, the path had a natural spring emerging at the top, which turned the 2 mile steep incline it into a pretty trechorous stream, all in all, not what we expected, but we had a right laugh, falling over and getting our walking boots sucked off! One of the most memorable walks we have had! We also did a walk round Aberystwyth, again very long (longer than the 6 miles it says it is), and the book at times isn't clear with it's direction - I also question the accuracy of the distances, especially when idential walks are in both books, and one says it's 5 miles, then other says it's 6!
All part of the fun - a great book.
