1.0 out of 5 stars Wonder if those sockpuppet accounts are from more than one person... 1 Nov. 2014
By Joseph Shipley - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Aside from the blatant copyright violation (Pathfinder RPG logo, Zelda from Legend of Zelda (Actually super smash)), the apparently sock-puppeted accounts leaving rave reviews (reviews better written than the "novel" itself), the fact that it's at most a half hour read, the sheer number of cliches, lack of detail, lack of characterization... This book wasn't a waste of my money. Of course that's because it was free on amazon unlimited, so I didn't pay anyways. I will be reporting this book to Amazon, and Paizo for copyright violations.

1.0 out of 5 stars This is Paizo approved? 13 Jan. 2015
By M. Larcen - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is a pathfinder novel? 93 pages? Quick read, okay I was there. I was saddened to see the writing felt like I was back in high school and my buddy said, "Hey read my cool fantasy story, I'm going to be a famous writer one day!"

After reading the entire thing (hey its free with Kindle Unlimited) in about 30 minutes killing time at the doctor's office, I went to explore more about this book.

Okay it has the Pathfinder official logo, but does it have the support of Paizo Publishing? I doubt it, but I could be wrong. Normally it would proudly say, "licensed, or approved" somewhere.

Thoughts:

There was constant lack of description, jarring jumps from one place to another, no real depth to the book at all. I found myself asking more questions then the book had answers for. I wanted to know a bit more about the characters I just got involved with, and even a bit more background.

Except we got, lack of description, boring 2d characters and jumps from place to place with a story that felt like someone's gaming session at home.

If you have Kindle Unlimited, give it a read due to being free and you want to kill time. Pay for it? NOOOOOOOOOOOO

5.0 out of 5 stars Imaginative, Engaging and Fast-paced 2 Aug. 2014
By L. Collins - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
"Pathfinder: Breaking The Chains of Slavery" is an imaginative and engaging fantasy novel that manages to be equal parts emotionally charged drama and epic suspenseful action. Innovate Media draws readers into a world of kingdoms and princes, enemies and destruction, far reaching plots and battles that could decide the fate of nations in their wake. The fast-paced novel is well-written with a vivid and sharp tone that keeps the action up while delving deep into the relationship between the four brothers and the dangers that lurk all around them. The author has a decidedly engaging writing style that is engaging and authentic in tone while managing to feel slightly fantastical in an epic journey sort of way. I had a lot of fun reading this novel and it left me eager to read more from the author in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rich story with plenty of action 19 Sept. 2014
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
“Pathfinder: Breaking the Chains of Slavery” is a fantastical tale of four brothers destined to rule their own kingdoms until a mysterious nemesis attempts to foil their birthright. This story is in the tradition of an ancient epic that draws upon fantasy to create a new history and new legends that are as rich as any found in mundane culture. The action is unrelenting, and there is never a dull or wasted moment in this novella. The writing is fluid, exciting, and simple with a style that holds its own against the heavyweights of the fantasy genre.
