THIS is the Video that's got it all for me! Their story from the very beginning. Path to Perfection cries out to be put on DVD & yet still sits in the background virually forgotten when every true T & D enthusiast would snap it up! It gives their origins as child skaters; how they came together their coaching before Janet. Their early routines on the way to the top. The wonderful Summertime, the upbeat Rock 'n' Roll, The Samba, all the way through Mac & Mabel, Barnum, until 1984 & the World's favourite the fantastic Bolero. For me the highlight of 84 was the original set pattern where Chris once more in the way ONLY HE CAN took the chosen music & produced a masterpiece of ice dance creativity no other came close to. Jane became his cape (not the bull)& using the trust they have in each other & the moves he choreographed the Matador practised his craft before our eyes! When he tossed his 'Cape' away with a grand flourish at the end & she swirled across the ice to come to a stop head facing the toe of his skate as he stood head erect arm aloft - THAT WAS PERFECTION! So please please please Bring this out on DVD it WILL SELL!

Have had this video for ages and was looking to replace with a dvd, however, having read reviews for other dvds I don't think I'll bother. The 5 stars are really for the performances which are taken from various championships rather than professional programmes and include Barnum, Mack & Mabel, Bolero and the fantastic OSP Paso Doble. I get the same feeling watching these performances now as I did watching them all those years ago and it is true that it is not the same as watching show versions. The tension of witnessing something completely different is still there. This is obviously a very different animal to later dvds in that is was made in 1984, just before their Olympic success and they had yet to obtain the poise and professionalism off the ice that they had on it. Them talking about 20 years in the future and being pushed around the ice now seems laughable when you consider they are continually pushing the boundaries. An oldie but definitely a goodie!
