Review

This is a colourful and beautifully illustrated book, which will certainly appeal to young children. The story is well written and can be read and enjoyed again and again. It illustrates the basic principles of good citizenship in a fun manner without sounding 'preachy' or patronising. --Dr A Siddiqui (Publisher)

Refreshing & original, Sima Yacoob' stories reflet the children's right to be taught the difference between right & wrong, at a level that all cultures can share. --Mary Kinte (Author/ Teacher) --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

From the Publisher

There is a passion for travel and discovery at Footprint that has been reflected in our publishing since the South American Handbook was first published back in 1924. More than 80 years on, our aim is still simple: to give travellers a refreshingly different view that helps them to follow their own route and have a unique, memorable experience. Over 100 current guides reflect the many ways in which people enjoy independent travel; whether exploring ancient sites, seeking an adrenalin-filled adventure or relaxing on the beach, our authors do all they can to bring our customers the very best of each destination we cover.

4.0 out of 5 stars Reliable and comprehensive guide 14 Feb 2010
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
I used this book to help plan a trip I am about to make to Patagonia, via Buenos Aires. Footprint is normally my guidebook of choice, wherever I am going, and it rarely lets me down. The maps are usually the weakest part of the book, but the layout and quality of writing usually compensate. This book has been recently revised and so should be up to date - I will know that for sure when we get there. The section on Buenos Aires is really useful, saving me the trouble and expense of buying and carrying an extra guide.

4.0 out of 5 stars So far so good 8 May 2008
By gsos - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I haven't gone on the trip yet so I can't comment on the accuracy of the book. I can say that it has help immensely with the planning process as it provides websites for most of the reviewed hostels and transportation services. It is very informative and was recently updated so I am assuming that the information is good. I can only give it four stars due to the fact that I haven't gone on the trip yet. Also, the book is smaller in size compared to the LP guidebook so you could easily take it with you on your trip without it being a burden.

3.0 out of 5 stars Don't like it much 1 Sep 2013
By Rachel - Published on Amazon.com

The font in my copy is about the size of that on the back of a credit card. I have no doubt the authors have traveled
the area and know it well, but I have an itinerary coming up in a few months, and nothing on my itinerary is listed
in this book. And for me, I prefer time expressed in "o clock" not military time, and prices WITH each lodging listing,
and in general found the organization of this book not to my liking. I ordered a couple others to help me with my research.
