Product Description

Product Description

This burly duffel bag is inspired by the simple utility of shipping containers on trains. Highly weather-resistant, it will protect your gear from rough handling. Its U-shaped lid allows quick access to the main compartment, while two zippered internal mesh pockets keep small items organized. The padded bottom panel adds structure and helps cushion the load with overly zealous baggage handlers. Carrying options include removable, padded shoulder straps, webbing handles with a snap closure and haul loops at either end (to link multiple bags). Four daisy chains let you lash additional gear to the outside. A zippered exterior pocket holds the stuff you need to access quickly. Made from 14.7-oz 1,200-denier polyester (50% solution-dyed) with a TPU film laminate and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish.

Great product. Was tempted to purchase a North Face duffel, but this was A: cheaper and B: had removable straps, which I felt was better for checking the bag in, at the airport and C: a really comprehensive video review online from Gear Buyer on Youtube ultimately swayed me. (I'm not affiliated with anyone, just doing my research)

Fit all my clothes and some for a week in Vegas! Used it after in Rome. Felt comfortable as a giant ruck sackon my shoulders.

I review this bag at the price of 49GBP. Overall, the Patagonia 60l duffel is the very good size for carry-on, backpacks for 3-5 days.
The fabric is not that wrinkle as you see in the Amazon's pictures. The only weakness is stitching of handle part that attached to the duffel. You have to handle it correctly, not by one side really.

I wanted a hard-wearing holdall, just for general travel use, and after initially looking at many leather bags, I started to consider either the North Face duffel, or this Patagonia competitor. I was a bit anxious once I'd spent £80 on it as to whether it would be what I wanted, but I was instantly pleased with it once I unpacked it. It got used straight away for a week's trip and still looks brand new. Personally I like the look of it too, but be aware the plastic coating is very glossy- down to personal preference whether you like that or not. Lots of room inside, and comfy shoulder straps. Thoroughly recommend- worth the money!

Essential 2 Feb. 2012

Very well made, simple, versatile, pretty comfortable as a backpack. The real indicator is that after seeing me use mine for morning workouts including MTB rides, my buddy bought himself one. We just got back from a 3 day ski trip and it fit everything (not boots and skis of course but yes on helmet). Plus it works for carry-on.
Patagonia Black Hole Duffels: an Outstanding Line of Bags! 4 Dec. 2014

I own almost the entire set of Black Hole duffels, including the 60L, 90L, 120L duffels as well as the 100L rolling duffel. I've been quite pleased with their performance after having dragged all four around the world. Thus far the bags have demonstrated an ideal combination of comfort, quality, durability, and of course space to haul stuff! The configuration, identical across all models, is perfect: a big hole to stuff everything but just a few small pockets (two interior pockets in the lid and one external side pocket) to organize key things. For additional organization, I just use drop-in organizers available from various brands. I also like the peace of mind that comes with Patagonia's bomb-proof warranty. The 60L is my most used bag and probably my favorite. It is the perfect size for an airline carry-on and I have easily packed for 3-week international trips with it, including clothing ranging from casual to a suit. I've also used the 60L daily for ferrying work gear around---gear that is probably heavier and rougher on the bag than Patagonia intended---with no problems at all. After 6 months of being fully loaded (and often overloaded) daily, the bag has shown no problems and actually looks nearly new. A minor complaint about the Black Hole duffels is the webbing on the shoulder straps coming unthreaded at the top attachment point. A few times I've had a strap unthread and pop loose at inconvenient times, i.e. running through a train terminal trying to catch my train with the 120L on my back. This has occurred on multiple models even after doubling the webbing back through the tri-glide buckle. Thicker webbing or different hardware would probably solve this problem. This is only a minor issue, though, and I will happily purchase more Black Hole duffels in the future. I enthusiastically recommend these bags to friends, coworkers, and family!
Good bag, but the straps can irk ya' in certain situations 16 April 2015
By Victor - Published on Amazon.com
So far, this bag has taken everything I throw at it. I used it as a travel bag, and a gear bag for a/v gear. It has been on domestic and international planes as a carry on, base camping, and i have kids- so it takes all sorts of abuse- water, mud, chocolate, dragging over rocks, and an occasional fling across tarmac.
Simple pockets, not too many- it's a duffel, not an organizer. The wide open space allows for lots of cramming, just like the name.
Here's my gripe: I love having the backpack straps. Going from casual airport stride to Tokyo rush hour subway, I need get those straps on/off quickly. The Black hole has quick release strappage on the bottom, but the top is a double loop. And no real way to tuck them away. Alternately, when in the backpack mode, the hand straps kinda dangle there. Patagonia needs to come up with something similar to the MLC, or the older duffels where the straps just expanded o-u-t into a shoulder strap.
Anyway, I'm talking too much. Good bag, but the straps can irk ya' in certain situations.
High Quality, Good Looking Bag 15 April 2015

Excellent bag. I got this from a local store on sale for $94, in the beige color. Fits nicely, feels like a very high quality product, and looks nice as well. The only downside is that the backpack straps do not have a pocket to fit into while not in use, and can get in the way sometimes. Quite weird deign flaw there. But other than that, I highly recommend this bag! Just not for the price that it is being sold on Amazon at the moment ($142-$250)

Best. Duffel. Ever. 5 Jun. 2013
By William Rogers - Published on Amazon.com
We have extensively used the 120L and the 60L for international travel. They are nothing short of amazing. Rugged, water proof, light weight and attractive. These are, quite simply, the best duffels I have ever owned.
