I like these lamps, I bought 2 as bedside lamps. The assembly was a bit fiddly but once assembled they look good and I find that touching any part of the lamp to make it light useful. I used to blunder around in the dark trying to find the lamp switch and possibly also disturbing my wife in doing so. Not now. I am able to make a guess as to where the lamp is and Bingo the slightest touch on any of the metal parts gives me a low light.

If there is any criticism it is that first touch is low light, second touch medium light and third touch bright light and fourth touch is off. I have to strobe through all settings from low to switch off the lamp with a fear of disturbing my sleeping wife. Not too bad if you touch it in rapid succession. I see no way round this other than practice.

I consider them value for money.

I bought this touch table lamp for my 83 year old mother as at present she wants to sleep with the light on after a lengthy stay in hospital. The lowest setting will accommodate this preference rather better than her leaving the central ceiling light on all night. The style is compatible with other brass effect items in her bedroom and at 14" tall it is compact should you have only a small amount of space available. It takes an ES golf ball type bulb - that's incandescent. Energy saving bulbs are not compatible with dimmable lights.

If you have sight or dexterity issues this lamp may best be avoided unless you can find someone who is willing to put it together for you as the shade assembly is pretty fiddly. The shade comprises six crescent shaped segments of decorated glass which affix into a brass effect frame by means of screws at the top held in place by slots at the base.Though we have got the lamp working my partner intends to tighten the top screws with a hex to make the construction more robust. This is not suggested in the instructions but would seem to make sense if you have one handy - not essential as the lamp will function without it and obviously be cautious not to overtighten given their proximity to the glass. Be aware when assembling that the edges of the glass segments are very sharp - no evidence of them having been ground at all - but this should not be a problem once the lamp is in use and presumably contributes to the item's relatively modest cost. You do have to keep considering the cost here. This lamp could not be said to be well designed given the challenge presented by the assembly and the fact that handling the glass pieces is a bit, well - potentially hazardous. You do get what you pay for.

This lovely pastoral traditional touch lamp is just the job. Unfortunately I had one before but was rushing about and knocked it off the table - not very careful! This is great, was so well packed. Thankyou very much.

Very pleased with the quality product and fast service delivery.Only problem was that it took a long time (1 hour) to assemble the parts before we could use the touch lamp. Had been warned though via other Amazon reviewers,& we also found the assembly instructions to be very confusing at times. Otherwise good.

I have bought 2 of these lamps , first one would not work at all. Took it to a Electrical shop said it was no good. So I bought another one through you. This one still is not a touch lamp as only lights when turned on or off at the point, I use this as a bedside lamp so I have to get out to turn off. Money wasted.

I have given this one star, for the delivery, because that was excellent. But as far as the lamp goes, I would give no stars. It is definitely not worth the price. The most I would pay is £5. It is cheap and nasty. The clips were very flimsy and all bent, the glass on the shade pieces were very rough and covered in little fragments of glass. And when all put together it wouldn't stand up straight, it was lopsided. Horrible. Not worth the bother.

Have now purchased 4 of these lamps and I am very pleased with the quality, style and performance
I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone wishing to buy them. My only comment is that it is much better for a
women (sorry fellas) to put it together as you need small fingers to tighten the screws. I found them a doddle to put together.
It took me about a quarter of an hour to assemble two lamps.
