For anyone interested in reincarnation (or for confirmed believers), this is a must-read! It defines karma's nature in detailed regression/ progression sessions. Not only do you get to experience past lives and future lives, but you have a chance to understand the in-between-states (between lives) via the sessions. He also talks about reincarnation in the different religions throughout history, and what it's like to die. I literally could not put this book down until the last page.

5.0 out of 5 stars Changed my life 26 Aug 1998

Format:Mass Market Paperback
In five words, It has changed my life. I have a hard believing other authors when they talk of many of the concepts such as astrial bodies, and reincarnation. I was an athiest untill I read this book. He presents the ideas in a way that says: this is what happens when I put people into hypnosis, and here is what could explain it. If you are not comfortable with traditional religon, give this book a try.

Dr. Bruce Goldberg writes an information packed book about past and future lives. He also highlights many of the regressions and progressions he has done to illustrate the benefit of hypnosis. This book is easy to read and understand and I recommend it for both the novice and the experienced metaphysical reader.

Dr. Goldberg's accounts of his hypnotic regressions and, to use his phrase, progressions into the future, are fantastic if true, and they cry for verification by other therapists. Three major implications for us all: 1) We all have an immortal soul and that our current life is but one of many that we have lived and will live in the future.
2) The people we know are very likely souls that we have had relationships in the past, and will again in the future. Even our children may have been our parent in a past life!
3) Our current "path" or road, which may not be high enough, may lead to a future disaster that we somehow sense today, thus leading some to therapy where the awareness can be revealed, attitude changed, and the future is changed! So, is the future fixed or totally up to fee will?
If verified, we clearly need more therapsits like Dr. Goldberg.
Our nation needs proof of reincarnation so that the following areas can be reviewed and adjusted accordingly: 1) death penalty - if the soul is immortal, then premature death may turn the released spirit into a ghost that may haunt weaker spirits such as our children! May be better to rehabilitate killers in a safe environment. 2) Does abortion kill a life? When does the soul enter a fetus? If this doesn't occur until after a few weeks, then abortion up until this point is just the changing of a pair of shoes that the same soul will inhabit when the next fetus is conceived. However, abortion in late term may be very disruptive to a soul's plans for reincarnation.
3) Cloning? Once we establish that we have an immortal soul as well as a temporary body, then it is clear that a different soul is most likely to inhabit a cloned human being. If so, what is the porblem with living in a body that is much less likely to be affected by genetic disorders? In my next life, I would love to have such a body!

1.0 out of 5 stars An Appalling Book 2 Aug 2008
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Verified Purchase
Don't get me wrong, I really do think there may be something in Past Life Regression and Reincarnation. However this book does little to help the discerning reader.

It gets off to a bad start when Mr Goldberg gives a synopsis of the Bridie Murphy case, I have never read such a bias account, Mr Goldberg picks out details that were correct in the case whilst ignoring the glaring inconsistencies, like there is no actually evidence that the woman actually existed.

Sadly the book gets worse, a man reincarnated back to Ancient Egyptians (I knew what was coming next) and yes you guessed it the pyramids were built with the aid of Aliens, it did not help that the author clearly did not know much about the great Pyramid at one point describing it as a tomb, which it clearly is not.

Then there are the fairy tale ones taking place in Europe, some of them were very similar to well Fairy Tales to be exact!

The one glaring omission throughout the book is the lack of any checkable details, if someone says they lived in X country it would be helpful to state which town or city, Street etc they lived in, Mr Goldberg ignores all this and expects the reader to accept on good faith that the regressions are the actual people that existed.

The future progressions, well the best that can be said is that some of his subjects had been reading far to much Science fiction, again the lack of any verifiably proof (by way of a prediction or two which the author tries not so skilfully to out of) they can be classed as little more than fantasy.

What the book does prove however is that the human mind is a wonderful thing indeed and can given the right circumstances weave a story better than most novelists can.

3.0 out of 5 stars imagination more important than intelligence? 23 July 2005
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Well it was fairly good reading until the 'progressions' take place and then it all falls apart, Dr. Bruce Goldman has a good imagination, his idea of the future might be more plausable had he not by 'syncronicity' chosen people who would go on to be very influential in the future! from being 2nd in command of overseeing life on an asteroid to a a bloke who repairs the 'beam me up Scotty machines'. I can see some of his idea's being used in the next Spielburg film(well worth reading Steven). After he got the age of the Great Pyramid wrong it was obvious Goldman was fantasy prone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very informative of the "What might Be"
It was informative in the fact it gave real answers to a mystrious subject. Some of it got to be a little out there, with the onset of future lives and the control of them.
