Product Description

Product Description

With the end of the Second World War Berlin became very much the epicentre of the Cold War. At the infamous Berlin wall, the two super powers confronted each other, and intelligence agencies of the East and West ran their spy centres. It was only after the peaceful revolution of 1989 that the divided city was able to grow together again and to become the capital of a reunited Germany. Given the radical changes to Berlin in the years following the fall of the wall, modern visitors to the city may find it difficult to seek out the various places connected to its notorious Cold War past. Maik Kopleck's Pastfinder remedies this by taking you to the well-known and less well-known sites of this city. It gives a concise account of the historic events and introduces the most important personalities. Several maps and a clear graphic design allow you to organise your own sightseeing tour. Among the places to be discovered are the State Security Centres; the GDR government shelters; the Allied Museum; the German-Russian Museum; the spot where an assassination attempt was made on Rudi Dutschke and the scene of the murder of Benno Ohnesorg.

5.0 out of 5 stars Indespensible portable guide to clinical examination, 18 Oct 2011
..undoubtedly the best reference book for examining the peripheral nervous system. It simple and effective and portable.
It would however be nice if it had a clear reference to the spinal root exits at the plexuses but never mind.
