5.0 out of 5 stars The Cost of Falling in Love 30 Jan 2012
By Saundra Woodard - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
This book keep me spellbound until the end. Raven McCloud, a TV Investigative Report, and Adam Steele, a detective meet on a crime ridden street in Washington, DC. Raven is a beloved mother of a daughter from a truly evil ex-husband, and Adam has a son that he is raising by himself since his late wife's death. After Adam meets Raven, he becomes totally smitten with her, but she's somewhat cautious and terrified to love again because of her evil ex-husband. However, they do decide to began the dance of passion when she is stalked and threatened by a predator who wants to kill her for some reason.

I consider this book to be a high level stalking and murder mystery that is well done. It has more feeling and sensuality than I've found in a novel in ages. My hat is off to you Ms. Francine Craft! I'm always busy tapping my toes until another one of her great novels comes out. This is also a nifty little interracial romance between secondary characters tucked in here that's different.

I'm glad that I got my Kindle for Christmas, and it's functionion like pure gold. I think about this when I read about others complaining about their e-readers. Thanks again Ms. Craft for your great story lines.

2.0 out of 5 stars WTH (Fire the Editor) 11 Oct 2011

I am an avid reader and was excited to read another Francine Craft book. The book was okay and very unrealistic, but that is not the real issue. The issue was the book was poorly editted. There were so many misspelled and wrong(misplaced) words. Then to top it off, some of the chapters were mixed in with other chapters. I had to reread to make sure I wasnt crazy. You would find 3-5 paragraphs from the previous chapter in the next chapter. WTH. I gave it 2 stars based solely on the book itself. I guess they are right when they say you get what you pay for but dang I am wondering if maybe this should have been a free book versus .99 cents. Francine Craft is a great writer but the editor really let her down on this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Pleasure to Read 11 Jun 2006
By Karen Moore - Published on
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Intrigued by the cover and the back-of-cover writeup, I began to read and was caught up from the beginning. These are real people with real problems. Raven McCloud is a D.C. TV reporter who meets Adam Steele, a detective lieutenant when a thug attemps to mug her. A grateful Raven is pleasantly surprised to find she has met this man before, but running scared after an abusive marriage to a biological lab owner, she doesn't return his interest.

But Adam is nothing if not persistent. Because she is grateful, Raven invites the detective to dinner with her and her small daughter and he is further charmed. He shows her pictures of his thirteen-year-old son and talks about his wife who had died earlier in a plane crash. A stalker who has been troubling Raven calls and for the first time threatens her with death -- "soon." She is terrified and Adam spends the night in a spare bedroom. They share an impassioned kiss when she thinks a prowler has broken in. It is is one of the best-written kissing scenes I have found.

But there is so much more. The characters are sharply portrayed, the suspense is good, and the sensuality and interpersonal thrust is really good.

I read it in two days and enjoyed it more than many of the fifty to seventy-five romance novels I read per year.

I am currently trying to read this book and it is so hard to finish. I am not able to relate to this book. I like Francine Craft's books but this one is not my favorite. I don't know but something is missing.
