It revolves around a group of friends in a small town in Ireland.Sylvia arrives home one evening to find her boyfriend in a pool of blood. In the course of their investigation, Detectives Barbara Molloy and Mick Naughton question the group of friends and uncover a web of deception. A party the night before the murder left many fingerprints at the scene of the crime. As the story unfolds, the friends discover secrets and lies that test their relationships to the point of breaking.

About the Author

Yvonne McEvaddy is a writer living and working in Headford, co. Galway, Ireland. She is the author of two novels, Passion Killer and Shadows of the Dead. She is currently working on her third novel, Thief of Hearts. Yvonne has been dabbling in the written word since early childhood, having decided at the age of 5, when she read her first Enid Blyton book, that she wanted to be a writer. Her summer holidays were often spent writing adventures in the remaining pages of her school copybooks. When not writing she was daydreaming about her books being available in her local bookstore. She was first published under her maiden name, Yvonne Gaughan, at the age of 17 when she won a Western Health Board competition to have her essay published in 100 Natural Highs. Also as Yvonne Gaughan, in college she was a member of the Mystic Poets Society and had two poems published in their collaboration, Mystic Spirits. Yvonne McEvaddy is a member of the Javawriters group.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Book 28 Aug 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
A group of friends, a brutal murder, and a tough police investigation are the premise of Passion Killer. Although it keeps you guessing until the end, the book is less a whodunit than a look into the relationships of those involved, their friendships and affairs, their loves and hates. With an excellent grasp of imagery, McEvaddy writes her characters in a way that the reader feels for them and is interested in their actions and motives. Her dialogs are realistic and help tell the story. Good book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Passion Killer - Yvonne McEvaddy 15 July 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was slightly apprehensive about downloading 'Passion Killer' to my Kindle, only because I wasn't quite sure whether it would be my type of book. Anyway, I clicked that 'Buy now with 1 click' and Yvonne's book was on my Kindle within seconds. My apprenhension was tossed aside when I was about 10% into the book. How many pages that equates to, I don't know. Anyway, 'Passion Killer' turned out to be a fabulous murder mystery novel. You have it all really in this book, unrequited love, jealousy, upset, obsession, and from me, there was, "No, it can't be" and "Oooh, I never thought of that" and "I bet it's so and so!" Well, of course, I was totally incorrect guessing who committed the murder. The story is about a group of close friends living in Ireland. One of the characters, Sylvia, arrives home one evening to find her boyfriend in a pool of blood, and the story twists and turns from there. The detectives, well Barbara Mallone, can get under your skin a little, but she's only doing her job I suppose! 'Passion Killer' is extremely well written and because I found it hard to put my Kindle down, I guess you could say this book is 'Unputdownable' This is the reason I've rated it 5*! Happy reading folks! Just watch your backs though, your friends may not appear to be who you think they are!!! Recommended!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Read 22 Jun 2012
By Sarah B
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Passion Killer is an exciting murder mystery that keeps you guessing until the end. It opens with the main suspect, Alex, being questioned by the detectives for the murder of Rick, the boyfriend of his friend, Sylvia. He has a motive for killing Rick, as he is in love with Sylvia.
Throughout the novel you discover that other friends of Rick and Sylvia's also have motives, as the author takes you on a journey of unrequited love, obsession and jealousy.
The story flows well, the plot moving forward through many twists and turns that keep you wondering `did he?' `didn't he?' but I really thought he did! And did he ?? you will have to keep reading!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping tale of slashed lives, loves and lusts.Compelling mystery 9 July 2012
By Ep - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Just when one supposes the Murder Mystery has been done to, eh, death, and no surprises remain which haven't been rehashed time and again, Passion Killer comes along.
With its fresh take on the whodunnit genre, Passion Killer's setting in the West of Ireland amid the lives and loves of a group of friends paints a realistic glimpse of the social milieu,- their work, career, and sexual interactions- that is utterly contemporary. Lives , loves and lusts are entangled dramatically , compelling the reader to solve the crime along with members of the Gardai-- the Irish Police Force. This book more than fulfills the promise of a gripping story, absorbing the reader in the pacy unravelling of myriad clues and red herrings right to the end when it delivers an unexpected thrilling twist, that wholly satisfying surprise ending. I won't spoil it. That scintillating climax, you will have to read for yourself.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Read 15 Jan 2013
By Miranda - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Passion Killer by Yvonne McEvaddy was a well crafted who dunnit mystery. Yvonne did a great job making me care about her characters. She conveyed their tight relationship to each other extremely well. Only gifted authors can elicit certain emotions from their readers with their writings, and Yvonne is one of them. She managed to make me very angry and frustrated in the appropriate parts and say "Aw" in others. And only exceptional mysteries can keep a reader in the dark about the identity of the murderer. This book truly has you guessing until the end.

3.0 out of 5 stars A little slow 30 Sep 2012
By Chris Redding - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I read a lot of murder mysteries and for some reason, I could not get into this one. I found it moved very slowly and I had a hard time getting through it. Someone who enjoys a slower cozy mystery may like this, but it was not for me.
