The Passion BargainThis was a horrible book on basically every level. The first is that the hero Carlo has sex with the heroine Francesca the same night that she is completely devastated by the horrible discovery that her fiance (Angelo) was having sex with her best friend (Sophia). The trauma of the evening was compounded by her making the discovering during what should have been her engagement party, which took place at Angelo's parents mansion. Angelo was a gold digger who was in it for her money and he was secretly boinking her best friend and roomate. Francesca (clueless) stumbled upon them doing the nasty while the so called party was in full swing. The hero Carlo "rescues her" from the situation by taking her back to his place, whereby she couldn't resist his charms. Adding to the psychological twisted plot, Francisca's not sure she can trust the hero Carlo since her former best friend (sophia) told her nasty things about the hero to the effect that he's using her for revenge--but she was overcome by passion and still goes again and sleeps with him -- giving up her virginity.
I felt that the whole plot was a bad idea because the writer had a series of traumatic events happen in one evening--literally the woman's life shattered before her eyes--but the heroine was never validated. He fiance and best friend betrayed her in the most shocking and horrible manner possible and I would think it would give ANYONE reason to pause and wonder who they can trust. Not our little heroine. I frankly I didn't find the story romantic. I felt the situations the writer placed the heroine in were emotiona lly traumatizing but she (the writer) never validated that nor did she resolve it in an emotionally healthy manner. I've read other HP's whereby the heroines had bad stuff happen but in the books that worked the writer was able to develop the plot in an emotionally healthy manner. I wish I could ask for a refund...annoyed that this book cost me 2 hours of my life I'll never get back.

First and foremost let me begin with the fact I almost did not purchase this book because of the bad review! What a mistake that would have been. I really enjoyed this story and felt it was very well done. I hope you enjoy these two as much as I did.
