From Amazon.co.uk

It's Die Hard on a plane in this action thriller, starring Wesley Snipes as an anti-terrorist specialist whose early retirement is interrupted when his flight is overtaken by a bloodthirsty villain (Bruce Payne). Watching this at home is pretty much an excuse to order pizza and kick back, as the familiar rhythms of maverick-cop-versus-international-criminal take over and nothing new or fresh in the formula emerges. The supporting cast includes Elizabeth Hurley (Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery) as a gun-wielding, junior terrorist, which is fun simply for being unexpected. The release includes optional full-screen and widescreen presentations, Dolby sound, production notes and optional English, French and Spanish subtitles. --Tom Keogh

3.0 out of 5 stars So bad that its good? Maybe. 18 July 2011

Format:DVD
Passeger 57 was made in the wake of the successful Die Hard. This film is made with Die Hard 1 and 2 in mind. It also resembles other films which came later including Executive Decision, Con Air and Air Force One. All of these films have their good points and bad. Passenger 57 certainly does.
Passenger 57 good points- 1. Well staged action. 2.Wesley Snipes on good form. 3. A good Stanley Clarke music score 4. An early Liz Hurley role(playing a bad girl Xenia Onatop type).
Passenger 57 bad points 1. Between the action some awful cliche scenes. 2. Lots of cliches. 3. Tom sizemores in it. 4. Tom sizemores pointless part. 4. Boring cliche love interest.
Passenger 57 has dated bad. Its a film I remember enjoying a decade or so ago but now after watching it again I can't help but feel it's a bad unoriginal movie with no artistic merit. But then maybe with the exciting action scenes, charicature baddies and Wesley Snipes kicking butt, the film isn't so bad. Maybe.

Passenger 57
Although twenty years old I hadn't seen the film before. A lot of the reviews were negative but the action which was almost relentless was fast moving. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy with purchase.
I don't think there is that much to say about this purchase other than it was timely, well packaged and reasonably priced.
Hope that helps.

A direct rip off of Diehard, as was the trend in the 1990's action movie genre, this is an OK thriller. Read more
