Dawn Mellowship is an author, freelance journalist and a Reiki practitioner and teacher. Dawn has taught Reiki to hundreds of students.

Dawn was born in the United Kingdom and studied Politics at the University of Sheffield. At twenty-four years old, suffering from a back condition and feeling disenchanted with her life, Dawn undertook a Reiki course. From that moment on her life was radically transformed. Dawn changed her entire lifestyle and dedicated herself to self-healing with Reiki and helping others through her healing and teaching work and the power of prose.

After developing Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia Dawn altered her eating and purchasing habits, switching to organic and vegan foods. After developing sensitivities to conventional beauty products she switched to organic cosmetics and penned Toxic Beauty, about the myriad of hazardous chemicals used in beauty and personal care products.

Dawn spent some months as the features editor of a women's lifestyle magazine called Tonic, producing many articles about health, beauty, lifestyle and poignant issues, as well as interviewing a host of celebrities. She currently writes ethical living columns for High Spirit Magazine and Natural Health Magazine.

Passage To Freedom is a refreshing and honest book full of practical exercises and meditations to help any one connect to their true spiritual nature and follow a path to enlightenment. The exercises and meditations are described well and are easy to follow, which is important, as you need to do them everyday. Every chapter gives lots of information, which as well as being informative is inspiring and uplifting. The book helps you to progress on a journey of spiritual growth, it involves work and effort, but is well worth it! I would recommend this book to everyone.

I read a great deal of books about spirituality, and I liked this one because it's broken down into useful and simple to understand sections with photos to illustrate each exercise. The exercises deal with areas such as anger, worry, releasing the past and healthy living, and Dawn talks about our everyday experiences of life sympathetically and clearly, with practical suggestions for how to raise our energies and bring better things into our lives.
