The author, Phill Godridge BSc, qualified as a driving instructor in 1996 and has seen many changes in the driving test in that time.
The building of the driving test centre at Bayton Road introduced even more obstacles to the prospective new driver in Coventry. The location gave sufficient reason to make use of faster roads such as the A444 and the larger roundabouts, which were previously considered too difficult for a novice driver to realistically cope with.
"Over the past few years, I’ve been keeping a record of not only what candidates are failing for, but where they are failing. My statistics would seem to suggest that there is a disproportionate amount of serious faults committed at relatively few junctions in the area" says Phill.
Those areas are targeted in this book, namely: Rowleys Green Roundabout, The M6 and Ribbon Roundabouts, The Bedworth double mini roundabout and a few other troublesome spots.
Hopefully if enough learners get the chance to read this book, then the number of failures at these junctions will dramatically fall and Coventry will no longer be considered one of the hardest places to pass your driving test.
