I have been using this book on my kindle for a while now to revise for my exam and I find it quite useful. The good thing is that it has quite detailed answers to compare to your own which has definitely helped to improve my own answers.
The only criticism I have is that there are only some general tips and i wish there were more, but other than that it's a great book I would definitely recommend.
An extremely useful little book, albeit the answers to typical 'Close Reading' questions are written in far too sophisticaed a manner for the average 'Highers' pupil to emulate. Methinks many youngsters will feel more inadequate having read what they will think is the standard of response expected of them. We can but hope it encourages them to read more - and to express themselves more succinctly.
This little book has been great for revising for close reading and as its small you can carry it about with you. It gives a good selection of all the subject matter needed for higher English, but it is only a "flash revise", so you need to know the basics as it doesn't go into great detail about how to answer the questions.
Written by an SQA English expert, this book is perfect for revising question types and exam technique. The exam paper is broken down into manageable sections with examples and model answers. If you're struggling with close reading this book will help!
