More About the Author

Jennie Walters worked in publishing before deciding to write her own books. She was partly inspired to create the 'Swallowcliffe Hall' trilogy by visits to beautiful old English country houses, and partly by finding a silver housekeeper's chatelaine when clearing out her late father-in-law's flat. As a teenager, she spent a couple of years in a clifftop boarding school in a converted Victorian mansion, with a sweeeping marble staircase and a collection of stuffed birds in glass cases. She now lives with her husband in London and is currently writing more books in the 'Swallowcliffe Hall' series.

Visit Jennie's website,, for fascinating detail into the world of Victorian servants and their masters and mistresses, original photographs, lots of background historical information, and much more!

Format: Paperback
Caz is going to be a bridesmaid at her Dad's wedding but she's not too keen on the dress and bride. I really like this book because there's so much detail so you can really get to know each person. The things the girls say to each other are so realistic and you feel like you know them. I like the way the girls are all different, like different hairstyles. At the back there are good ideas for arts and crafts especially for sleepovers.

This is one of the best books I've ever read. I like the expressions the girls use and I like the way Jennie made each character different, such as different hairstyles. I feel as if I know the girls and the stories are very realistic.
