I got this EP (actually called the Party Dress EP) shrinkwrapped to the Shine Like It Does album, and I'm hugely impressed. Eileen Rose is a fabulous songwriter, crossing genres with consummate ease. On this EP, the title track is a deep but sweet blues, mournful and torchy, but still capitalising on a beautiful melody. New Penny is a sleazy swamp rock that takes off into crazy acid rock at the end. Booze Talkin' is a rush of very early Elvis, really cool and trashy and meant. And That's No Way To Say Goodbye (a new song, NOT a Leonard Cohen cover) is one of the most heartbreaking songs about the end of a relationship I've heard in years. The lyrics are amazing, simple and superbly realised, like Abba's Knowing Me, Knowing You, but even better. Get this EP while it's still free with the album - you won't regret it!
