This book is about the Brain Ship 'Nancia'. It starts with her maiden voyage, and follows 'things' as they happen through her first years on service and beyond. (sorry not plot spoiling it, but this should remind you if you've read it).
Great twisting, and a 'bit of a who done it plot'.
(Had to add this, as couldn't work out which of this series I'm missing - from the books of hers that I have, the rest of the series appears to be: Placed this book info to help others!)
1) the ship who sings (helva)
2) Partnership (Nancia)
3) the Ship who searched ('Tia)
4) the City who fought (Simeon)
5) the ship who won (Carialle) , Nimisha's ship is set in a similar vein, but isn't to my mind a brain ship bk)
All are great stories and ones i regularly re-read. Hope you enjoy it as much as i do!

Save yourself a day to read it as you won't want to put it down. The story is great and the characters are believable. I recommend this book to people who have never read Ann McCaffrey's work before as well as people who are die hard fans.
