Touche Amore have finally returned with their second full length, a 21 minute epic and instantly classic record. While it feels almost like a full on hardcore assult in places, and then a soft piano bar in others, the intensity cannot be shaken. The band are experimenting with their sound if the slowness of the previous la dispute 7" is anything to go by. There is so much to creating a dark and emotive album and making it work without sinking into self serving BS. Here the balance of self projecting lyrics, the heavyness vs the fast or steady pace of the music it all swallows you up. There are a lot of clever guitar riffs involved here making this record really stand out. Buy it you'll consider it a classic from one of punk/hardcores yet to be greats!

This will set the bar for some time to come.
I'm not a massive fan of the production on the debut (although it is a great album).
Here the production quality has is improved 20fold with the same intense, visceral deliverance
of "To the Beat of a Dead Horse".
Slightly more appealing for new fans and equally as potent as the debut, this has the feel that
they have settled into their sound a little more.
This album is full of the emotion and untamed, raw passion that you'd expect from TA.

Catharsis. I think that's the best way to describe this album. It is a huge 20 minute onslaught of power and emotion that makes you feel as though you've been holding your breath for the entire time as the pressure continues to build and, at the end of it all, you let out a huge sigh of bliss.
The lyrics are very personal and yet strangely universal. Every song feels like something everyone can relate to but, at the same time, you can tell that they come from the heart and from experience.
Instrumentally, the song structures are all fairly similar simply because they're all very short and snappy tracks which is incredibly refreshing in a genre that often prides itself on complexity. This album perfectly combines very raw punk rock with the melody and emotion of post-hardcore.

If I could, I'd plead with every music lover in the world to get this album and stick it on repeat for days. It's that good, go get it. Now!
