This is a superb old dramatization of Wind in the Willows. For me, it is definitive, just the most wonderful evocation of the spirit of the book. It does miss out lovely sections of the book like the Piper at the Gates of Dawn and Wayfarers All, but those sections of the book are better read in any case. The characterization of the four main characters is absolutely spot on, and it is full of memorable lines and, in my view, the most melodious arrangements for the various songs in the book, from Ratty's Ducks' ditty to the lovely carol sung by the field mice outside Mole End. I still have the original vinyl versions that my parents gave to me for my 5th birthday, and my sons have worn their way through 2 sets of the cassettes. It is thrilling to finally find this (and at such an amazing price) on amazon.
