I like to think that over the years I assembled various reasonably comprehensive tool-kits, but the circlips securing the drone drive-shafts are so small that nothing in any of my toolboxes was appropriate for the task. Attempting to remove or replace the tiny circlips can be very tricky without the right tool for the job, and can easily lead to the practically invisible clips distributing themselves into dark corners of the room, never to be seen again. The tool in the mounting set is appropriately shaped to make placement and removal of the shaft circlips very easy, and the quality of the tool is good.
Gripes? Two: firstly it would be good to be able to purchase the tools in the kit individually at a lesser cost, as I didn't need the screwdriver that is part of the set. Secondly, as with all tools designed to facilitate a rarely undertaken task, there in little by way of competition in the marketplace, so the price reflects the 'premium' nature of the product rather than its intrinsic value.
For me it was simply a case of was I prepared to pay the asking price for something that makes working on the drone much easier? Having done so, I don't lie awake at night worrying about my decision!
