Loved this as we love Paris. Sandrine is a great presenter and we didn't have a problem with her accent. We booked our last trip straight after watching this. Got the book too which is more detailed and has great photography.

Wonderful series with just the right combination of history, art, design and the magic that is Paris. I ordered it from amazon.com.uk because couldn't find it in the USA. It was worth it.

Sandrine Voillet takes the viewer of Paris - an insider's guide, on a journey through the amazing city that is Paris. She looks at the seedy side of the city, including its sex shops, as well as the more traditional tourist haunts. This DVD is a must for anyone preparing to travel to Paris and will be of interest to anyone curious about Paris and wanting to learn more of the city. Sandrine is a charming guide to Paris and the DVD is well worth a watch.

I have two copies of this engaging, beautifully filmed and delightfully presented series - a copy for me and a lending copy. This series is absolutely wonderful. The series covers so many aspects of the history, society and culture of the most famous city in the world that there is something for everyone. If there isn't something for you, I suggest you look very closely at your intellectual/social/cultural personality because you will be lacking something fundamental to your wellbeing! If you are planning a trip to Paris, you MUST see this series. If you are penniless and a trip to Paris is quite some time off, this will give you a little satisfaction in the mean time. Alternatively, it could fuel your desire to be there NOW and then you will be all sad and bereft, so probably approach with caution.

There is a book accompanying the series, which is as beautiful and joyful as the series, so if you love Sandrine and her Paris, you will need the book too!

This 3 part series from the BBC is an excellent review of Paris. Having lived there for 6 years I found it to be accurate and engaging. Delivery of the item was very fast and the price was excellent.

I caught a short snippet of this series on Television and was so intrigued that I immediately went online to order it. Having lived in Paris myself for 13 months, you would think I learn't it all, but Sandrine Voillet's informative documentary is wonderful, she doesn't just do all the obvious stuff, but don't worry the Eiffel Tower still plays a starring role. Her historical quips are so interesting, as for Sacre Couer I never knew the origins of it and who knew I was standing close to the most beautiful toilets in the world and never even knew!
Buy this and enjoy. Some of her french may be slightly difficult to catch, but her accent made it a joy to watch!

This is a BBC documentary about Paris. It is a Region 2 DVD, meaning that it will not work on most American DVD players (it obviously will work in the UK, France, and the rest of Europe). However, IT WILL PLAY ON COMPUTERS IN AMERICA. I'm an American who watched it on my computer. I was very impressed.

If there was a perfect woman then it would be Sandrine Voillet. She has a pretty smile and a sexy accent. However, that is a catch-22 since her accent makes her hard to understand at times. I couldn't understand half the things she was saying.

This is a documentary about the history and culture of Paris. This is not really a guide for tourists visiting Paris. If you're an American and that's what you're looking for, purchase Rick Steves France 2014 Blu-Ray and DVD. If you're from the UK, simply take a Eurostar to Gare du Nord.

This DVD is divided into 3 one hour episodes. In the episode "City of Dreams", she visits the Louvre (home of the Mona Lisa), the Champs Elysses, Arc de Triomphe, and the Orsay Museum. The episode also features the July 14th Bastille Day celebration (for those of you who aren't familiar, that's a celebration of the anniversary of French Revolution. It features parades and fireworks).

In the episode "Blood and Chocolate", she rode a motorboat along the River Seine. She also visited the Notre Dame and interviewed a French rapper. This was the least interesting of the 3 episodes.

My favorite episode was the last episode, "Bohemian Rhapsody." It began with her riding a bike around Paris. She then rode the Paris Metro, which has beautiful stations. She also passed by the sex shops in Montmarte before catching a show at the Moulin Rouge.

A good complement to the book. If you have visited Paris, the DVD vill give you great pleasure. If you haven't, it will make you plan a visit as soon as possible.
