Having finally got some good weather I set up the new umbrella yesterday, only to find that it is useless. It gives a great area of cover which is the reason I bought it but the base is far too light to be able to keep it upright! Even in a gentle breeze it was lifting on the stand and it finally toppled over, even though I had put two paving stones on the base! It is totally useless and is, in fact dangerous, if it landed on someone! I don't know if there were any details in the instructions about making it more secure because they were all in French and German! I would not want to drill holes in my block paving or decking to secure it down to the floor, because I would want to move it about depending on the sun. Don't buy this umbrella!
