John Wayne Gacy murdered 33 young men and boys between 1972 and 1978 in suburban Chicago. 26 bodies were found in a crawl space beneath his house and 3 others were buried in the backyard. Although the house was completely demolished during the exhumation of the bodies, on May 15, 2004 a group of paranormal investigators wired the home that was built in its place with paranormal detection and surveillance equipment. The outcome of the investigation was grisly, terrifying and disturbing.

To be there.. i was a bit sceptical of this film, and judged it by it's cover and purley for the fact the story line and basis around the film seemed creepy! The john gacy murders were horrific and the subject is enough to make any good horror film. However the film as a whole was OK!!! i use the term loosely And all the actors pretty good (Bar the porn star). But i was let down by the minimal "Jumpy" scenes and the House CCTV USED TO 'FILM THE ACTIVITY' had very poor piture and sound which let it down with the scare factor! and the death scenes were very minimal!! bit of a let down but otherwise good watch

*** POSSIBLE SPOILERS ***

Another "found footage" movie this time based on the house where notorious serial killer John Wayne Gacy committed his murders.
The film involves a team of 6 ghost hunters who want to get in contact with Gacy's spirit. As you would expect from this sort of movie it starts off slow, there's a few bumps and bangs, a falling picture, a presence touching various cast members but to its credit it does pick up some speed at the end. However you already know what happens to the team, the only questions are how and when.
The team keep referring to creepy "old houses" yet the intro states in 2006 6 bodies were found, also Gacy's original house was demolished in 1979 and rebuilt in 1982 which would make the house 24 years old when these events happened. The "new house" is apparently known to be a site where strange things happen.
Putting aside the new/old uncertainty, it's an OK ghost story albeit nothing is ever seen. It is not one I will be in a hurry to watch again, the acting is sometimes annoying and there's a brief sex scene thrown in but it just didn't grab me. What was with the Big Brother style solo interviews?
However the fact that it is also on sale as 8213: Gacy House [DVD] [2011] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC] as well as part of the Paranormal Entity series is annoying.

Okay well its never going to be as good as the original Paranormal Activities but you can guess this before buying/renting the film, however in my opinion its pretty good. The idea for the plot is good. John Wayne Gacy's murders would give you the creeps anyway without even making a film about it. Most of the acting is good apart from a couple of actors especially the wiccan/psychic she just wound me up. I would say it was definitely better than the first Paranormal Entity so if you were choosing between the two i would say get this one, the two aren't related so it doesn't matter. I really liked how at the end it gave what appeared to be a police report on how the investigators died which helped add to the overall effect of being creeped out. There were a few smart camera shots done with the infra red/night vision camera which were scary. So overall i think it could be worse for a low budget POV/found footage film and anyway you can always watch it again and laugh!

as the first hour of the film is the crew taping themselves and videoing them arguing the film gets going, its ok after the false and disappointing paranormal entity 2 ,this one is better.just one flaw, look at the colour photo of john wayne gacy at the beginning where he is thin and gaunt ,the so called ghost of him is a well built man.something wrong thereand if these film were really true they would be shown worldwide, especially ACTUAL ghost siteings

don't buy from dvds r us they make slanderouse remarks to customers.

This film honestly Isn't all that bad...Basically the plot of the film is about a group of paranormal investigators who decide to spend the night in a house that now stands on the spot of the former house that was lived in by famous American serial killer John Wayne Gacy. I was told about this film by a friend who had watched a film called "8213 Gacy House"...and as it turns out that is the American title of this film. To be fair the film isn't that bad...I think its only if you are comparing it to Paranormal Activity then it comes in a good second place. There are errors and contradictions in this film that are obvious and have probably led to the 1 star negative reviews on Amazon..but toss them aside and the film certainly picks up. Its more of a Blair Witch Project style film than a Paranormal Activity style. It does take a good while to get into..and after 30 minutes I contemplated turning it off...but it picked up and kept me interested enough to finish the film and take away an assumption that it wasn't a bad movie after all.

Some of the acting isn't the greatest, nor convincing..and like I mentioned before the actors sometimes contradict what the actual sypnosis of the film states. It seems the cast think that the house they are in is the exact house that Gacy lived in...even though the titles and sypnosis state the house was built on the former site of where Gacy's bungalow stood...but yet the house in the film does look a lot older than its meant to be..especially seeing as the original bungalow was demolished in the late 1980's..and the film was set in 2004..so it definatley dosen't look like a house that is only 15 years old.

The reason I was entrigued by this film is it is based upon a true crime..not a fictional one..Gacy was a real serial killer..
