PARAMEDICS! TEST YOURSELF IN Anatomy & Physiology is an ideal book to co- inside with the development of individual anatomy and physiology learning whether for academic modules as a student paramedic or for reference and continual development as a registered Paramedic.
Separate individual chapters cover all the relevant body systems that Paramedics may encounter in practice and the varying different forms used as "test" exercises aid to show that people are able to adapt to working under different styles of pressure and by including the answers allows for the student to review their strengths and weaknesses enabling them to increase their knowledge, learning and development as required.
I feel having the explanatory sections accompanying the answers are beneficial; however they may have been best suited prior to the questions to aid learning, although, the introduction and useful resources box inform the reader of extremely useful and educational texts relevant to what they will need to learn for the chapter.
The abbreviations, directional terms and common prefixes, suffixes and roots are an excellent resource to refer to as required, along with the words and definitions selected for use in the glossary section.
I think this book should be recommended in anatomy and physiology books and/or included in reading lists relevant to Paramedic literature.
Overall, I found this to be a highly beneficial and interesting resource to test my own knowledge as it is easy to forget the basics and underlying anatomy and physiology of body systems and I would especially recommend this text to all student Paramedics whilst in the learning phase, as well as recommending it to Paramedics as a useful tool to ensure they keep their a & p adequately refreshed.
