More About the Author

My name is Richard McMunn and I started the 'how2become' series of books back in 2005 when I was working as a Firefighter for Kent Fire & Rescue Service. I initially started selling the books through my website http://www.how2become.com but soon expanded the range on Amazon.

Before joining the Fire Service I spent 4 years in the Fleet Air Arm on-board HMS Invincible. During my career I was heavily involved in recruitment and regularly sat on interview panels in addition to creating recruitment tests and scoring application forms and CV's.

Many of my books not only include details of how to pass a selection process, but I also provide sample responses to the application form questions and also the interview questions. I have helped hundred's of people to secure a job and I believe I can help you to do the same.

My books are created from a desire to help people achieve their goals and I am sure you will find my books inspiring and motivational.

I hope you enjoy my books,

Richard McMunn

This book helped me get a trainee technician role with the SAS, if you want that job, get this book, it worked for me and I've had 11 unsuccessful interviews with 3 different ambulance services (NEASx 5,SASx 3, YASx 2, WMASx 1) before I got book, and after reading it, it has aced it for me I'm now about to start my training course in 4 weeks, this is your key to that job

I often interview for paramedic positions in my ambulance trust, things have moved on and all Trusts I have been involved in use competency based interviews. While personal presentation is important the skill of the interviewer (in my opinion) is to see beyond this to the qualities within. If you are thinking of becoming a paramedic think about how you can demonstrate through past actions that you have key qualities e.g team working, motivation, leadership, empathy, equality and diversity, a strong stomach etc.

Purchased for my son who found it very useful - good clear headings and sound advice. Worth reading if you are applying for paramedic science
