I've eaten in the Cafe Paradiso a few times now, and never have I been disappointed there. It's a vegetarian restaurant in name, but it transcends that genre, and is truly a gourmet foodie haven. The cookbook, written by the owner Dennis Cotter continues firmly in the tradition created by the restauant itself. The book starts with larder essentials, such as oils, breads, basic roasted veg etc. The very first recipe is for bread, and I dare you not to try it.
Sitting here right now, some recipes spring immediately to mind, such as the carrot, almond and feta terrine, or pasta with lemon. Little descriptions from the author accomapany each recipe and cause mouth-watering juices to flow.
This is not a vegetarian cookbook, this is a classic.
