5.0 out of 5 stars the most exhilarating album youll ever own 1 April 2007
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I once heard someone say 'electro doesnt belong to guitar wielding rockers'.If you ever needed proof to the contrary, this album is it-It is a phenomenal assembly of electro infused rock songs, blasting along a million miles a minute with head spinning riffage and relentless rythm.

Joshua Homme,of qotsa and kyuss fame, took an interest in this band after seeing them open for masters of reality and ended up producing the album and it is very apparent. The first album at times was a bit ponderous-but there is little evidence of it on this record.it tones down nicely for sublime Ballad of pure thought and the fantasticly chilling Rise And Fall but its strength is its devastatingly intense pace. Im on a high and we dont live here anymore are just fantastic rock songs, pure and simple.

I would reccomend this to anyone who finds the whole 'indie revolution' somewhat tiresome and are looking for someone a bit more original. Its not an easy to access album at all but is easily worth persevering with-the reward is an album that makes you wanna dance, jump and do pretty much anything.

5.0 out of 5 stars Belgian Brilliance 29 Sep 2005
Format:Audio CD
Well i thought personally that Outside The Simian Flock was pure brilliance in parts, but this, the 2nd album from the belgian rockers is even better that that. As with Simian Flock, it took me a while to really get into the way millionaire play, such as with many good bands, but songs like 'I'm on a High', 'A Lust Unmatched' and 'Love is a Sickness' really drive this album foreward. You can really tell the input legend Josh Homme has added to this album in songs such as the hefty 'Sweet Life Cherry' and 'Alpha Male.'

The album artwork, i think, is quite effective but the text that the designer has used is borderline unreadable, especially inside the booklet. I am going to give this 5 out of 5 because that inside of the booklet doesnt really count, its the quality of the music, and Millionaires second bite of stoner rock simply rocks.

3.0 out of 5 stars The 3rd best thing from Belgium 20 Sep 2005
By Mr. H TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Audio CD
There aren't many good things that have come from Belgium. Plastic Bertrand and the best chips in the world. Not much really, but still more than Luxembourg and Liechtenstein. But now it's possible to add Millionaire to that select group.

To be honest, their debut album, "Outside The Simian Flock", passed me by without making much of an impact. However, recent single "I'm On A High" perked up the attention meter. Maybe it's been the years out playing live with Mark Lanegan and Josh Homme, but the band have certainly raised their game for this second bite at the cherry.

Once you fight your way past the dreadful cover and unreadable booklet you;re confronted with a swaggering modern rock beast of a record. It's the sound of a band who know they've come up with the goods, and are borderline cocky about it.

And if you'd written a song as good as "A Love Unmatched" or "Alpha Male" you'd be entitled to have a swagger as well. The only band they seem slightly in thrall to is early Janes Addiction, but overall Millionaire have found their own way this time around.

1.0 out of 5 stars What Happened? 4 Jan 2006
Format:Audio CD
Out go the snake hipped grooves, infectious riffs and electronic subtleties as Millionaire decide it's time to abandon creativity and toss off this depressingly tuneless and fuzzy dirge fest. Who would have thought Josh Homme could have such a negative effect on a band? Perhaps the first album was slightly lightweight on the production, but this effort verges on the unlistenable after the first track. Perhaps Millionaire will be considered cool now, but for those that enjoyed 'Simian Flock', there is nothing to match 'body expereience revue' or 'petty thug' on here.
