5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliant second album 14 Jan 2003
Format:Audio CD
This second album from the belgian band K's choice is absolutely brilliant, a real gem. All 14 tracks on the CD have high quality, for me the stand out tracks are Not an addict, White kite fauna, Song for Catherine and Iron flower. K's choice are one of my all time favorite bands and I will recommend everyone to go see them live if you have the opportunity. I will recommend this album to everyone who likes rock music with a melancolic twist.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great album, from my new favorite band 6 Jan 2002
Format:Audio CD
After accidentally stumbling across this band on the internet, whilst looking for Fiona Apple songs, I was pleasantly suprised by the haunting nature of the vocals, and the thought provoking lyrics. I found Sarah (Lead vocals) voice reminiscent of that of Fiona Apple, and sometimes Jewel, but there is a difference in the way in which she is produced to sound almost ghostly.
The main difference between the music of K's Choice and the aforementioned artists is the back up her voice is provided by the band, who also create the ghostly, unhuman quality which is found on this album.
This said, I would recommend this album to lovers of music, as the influences on it can be heard to be taken from all the different styles surrounded by us today.
Stumbling across obscure artists has never been so pleasurable.

OKay, I have to confess that I came across them after hearing them on the BtVS Album.
But *wow*, they're so...*different*. The music is wonderful, with a wonderful delicate balance between vocals. It's honest to god one of those albums you have to have one repeat. "I smoke a lot", is so catchy and funny you will have it in your head *all day*, 'Breakfast' is hauntingly beautiful, as is 'Eligia', and if you're not moved by the angsty ' I will return to you', or 'What the hell is love'(one of my fave tracks - should be like, an alternative anthem) then you're beyond help.
With a dark, quirky ege, pop.culture references, and absolutely incredible lyrics (tho often of a mature nature) YOU HAVE TO HAVE THIS ALBUM.

4.0 out of 5 stars Belgian brilliance 26 Jun 2006
Format:Audio CD
I first heard this album in France nearly 10 years ago and I have not stopped listening to it since. The highlight for me is 'Iron Flower' - a noisy, heavy rock base with a fantastic duet harmony over the top. The lyrics are a bit obscure in places ("pierce purple eyeballs made of china") but all in all this is an album that is very easy to love. Sarah has a fantastic voice and the melodies are deep and clever throughout. Other top tunes are 'A sound that only you can hear', 'To this day' and the title track 'Paradise in me'. A much stronger collection than 'Cocoon Crash' in my opinion.
