I bought this guide, as, frankly, I was struggling to understand Paradise Lost as a text. However, as a revision exercise for the A-level; 'Aspects of The Gothic' exam, I decided to cover this whole guide, from front to back, making notes on key points as I went along. It not only helped me appreciate the sheer brilliance of Paradise Lost through my newly found understanding of the text, but it also proved essential for the exam. It must have worked as I achieved 86.5% which is a solid A. I would recommend this to anyone studying books 1 & 2 for the A2 English Literature Gothic exam, or anyone who simply wishes to acquire a greater understanding of Milton's first two books in this extraordinary work of literature.

Really well set out into relevant sections, but as I am studying the whole poem, it's quite limited. A few more books, rather than just One & Two would be great.
