Product Description

The miracle of a second chance...

Meredith Bancroft: A powerful executive in her family business, her heart is as cool as her blonde elegance.

Matthew Farrell: A tall, handsome, relentlessly successful tycoon, racing from his bitter memories of childhood scarred by need and shame.

Their lives are the envy of the watching world, but both are essentially alone, haunted by the legacy of the once-in-a-lifetime passion that exploded when their paths crossed in their youth. Now they are thrown together again, unlikely allies in a corporate battle that offers the rare opportunity to reclaim their lost love...if only they can begin to believe in each other, and grasp the tender miracle before them... --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

OK, i was already in love with JM's books, before i read this one, from reading 'Whitney my love' and 'Almost heaven'. When i first heard of this book, i was not too sure whether she would be able to transfer well from historical romance to that of the modern age. However, i am glad to say that i was proved wrong. From the first page you are instantly drawn to Meredith, who is not just another typical, pampered socialite as one would expect. She is both sincere, and yet so innocent, which is rare thing to find these days. However, the great thing about JM is that she always develops both the heroine's and hero's character equally well. Matt is not just a typical playboy, which makes a nice change! It is nice to see that such a dominating person, could be so vulnerable, such is the power of love. I must admit that this story will pull at the heartstrings in places, and yet retains its wit and humour. I can positively say that if you did not read JM's books before, you will want to read them all after this book, which is one of her finest. Likewise, i found it a great pleasure to see both leading characters appear again in the story 'Perfect', which is equally good. So for a night in, this is THE book to read. Believe me, you will never look at JM the same way again.

I have read this book up to five times now and I still go back to it time and time again. Matt Ferrell and Meredith Bancroft are two people trying to love, live and overcome major obstacles in their lifes, like family opposition and maintaining a career. Matt Ferrell is my idea of the strong, but not always quiet type who sees a girl and wants her, but at what costs. The supporting characters in the book are very unique themselves and they also keep you on your toes, as you wonder what is going to happen next? Judith Mcnaught is a one of a kind writer, she brings to life the characters in her books and makes reading a pleasurable experience for everyone.

I'd read a couple of Judith McNaught's books. Then I read Paradise - by far the best. I couldn't put it down. I've re-read the book several times and never tire of it. This book has a permanent home on the shelf. Meredith and Matt are a fictional couple who jump out of the page because Judith makes them real and believable. The pace never slips and your interest is kept from beginning to end. A great read and thoroughly recommended. Judith's books always tell a great story, but Paradise is definitely top of the pile.
