By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This is a wonderful CD. I just recently purchased it and can't seem to get enough of playing it over and over again. It is classic Grover Washington material: Abosolutely The Bomb! Much Love and repect to the Master of Sax who will be missed eternally.

5.0 out of 5 stars John Blake shines on violin, a few great cuts 9 Dec 2008
By Patrick Moore - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
first, I am not a fan of smooth jazz. This album came out in 79, before the term "smooth jazz" was used. I find this relaxing music for people with brain injury.

This album also came before Grover's hit with bill withers, when we wondered at that time if he had "gone commercial," as we said in those days.

I wouldn't buy the whole album, just one song for John Blake or five songs for the funk:

Best cuts:
1. Paradise, written by John Blake and features him on violin, wow! closer to straight ahead jazz than the rest of the album.
2. all of "side two" (I have the vinyl)
a) Asia's theme is happy funky major key
b) shana is calm and cloudy, intriguing, you'd think it good for massage or drifting to sleep but halfway through the song there is a journey into another realm, jungle beats, then fading back to mellow--you wouldnt hear this on the song preview. A good song takes you places.
c) Tell me about it now is funky minor key
d) feel it comin is funky major key

Some people would find this album relaxing for massage but it would be one person in a hundred. Better for creating a mood at gatherings, at work, or listening while clacking on the computer all day.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Classic Must-Have 17 Dec 2004
By Henry Cooper - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This is one of the albums that everybody should have on their CD player. 'Cuz this was the best that Grover put out. Anybody who's missing out a lot of good music and/or tired of all the rap playing in the radio and all of that should check this out. It's full of funk, heavy R&B, disco and a little Latin.

Much love to my man Grover was is at peace now.

5.0 out of 5 stars A profound experience of Jazz... 18 Jun 2009
By Ronald Thomas - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I originally bought this on vinyl...This album is an excellent example of the masterful and creative use of synthesized music in the hands of capable musicians and the composition is excellent. I originally (1982) bought this album at a time in my life when I was escaping into music to stimulate my imagination. I just bought a few Grover Washington Jr titles on cd with this one yesterday and was all choked up listening to them last night because so many people I used to listen to this music with have passed on including Grover Washington Jr and John Blake themselves and it represents a marking of time for me, and I had to really get over that whole catharthis of the fullness and passage of time
and think about all the friends and family that I have been missing and lost as well as those that still remain...That is a bit much to go through and the reason I bought the album again on cd was because I was talking to a comedian who toured with Grover and told me how great it was to work with him and he showed videos of his comedy and gave me one of his comedy albums...and that just pushed me over the edge of procrastination in piking up this album...I just cannot stop listening...
