We are planning to go to Paphos next year and so I was pleased to see a book so specific to my intended destination. Perhaps I have been spoilt by the excellent guides that exist today but this one is just one long tourist brochure with no specific information or recommendations and so no way to get a feel for the place. I am going to buy a book on the whole island (perhaps Lonely Planet) and I am certain that the coverage of Paphos, relatively small though it may appear compared to this, will be far superior.
Since writing the above, I have bought the Lonely Planet Guide to Cyprus and I can confirm that this is the better option. There are only about 30 pages on Paphos but they tell you what you need to know.

I bought this book prior to holidaying in Cyprus and found it very informative on the town and surrounding area. Without it we would certainly have missed many of the things to see in and around Paphos.

I think this guide might have been more be useful if we were exploring the area by car. As it was we were using local buses and this book, revised in 2008, was not sufficiently up to date.
Also it would have been more helpful to have a book which covered the areas adjoining Paphos as well as Paphos itself.
Perhaps I was expecting too much from one book.
On the plus side the content concerning Paphos is well laid out and interesting.

An interesting guide from a resident of Paphos
This was especially interesting as it is written by a resident and includes many articles not found in normal tourist guides. I will certainly take this with me.

I loved this guide used it to guide me round the archeological dig and tooms of the kings, very good information, no need to buy the guides at either sites. Read more
