Product Description

Product Description

Paperblanks Leonardo’s Sketches Sun and Moonlight Midi notebook. In a body of work that is perhaps unparalleled in history, Leonardo da Vinci’s (1452-1519) sketches and copious notes allow us to peer into the mind of a genius. He was a consummate draftsman and sketch artist, and carefully recorded his world and the travels of his mind in mirrorimage cursive. A man of unquenchable curiosity spanning an infinite spectrum, he was simultaneously taken with the concepts of grace and geometric structure of the universe. In his notes on water motion and the moon he explores the intrinsic beauty of serpentine flow, valued artistically as the most graceful of figurative movements. In his diagram of the light of the moon relative to the brilliance of the sun recorded in the "Codex Leicester," we are reminded of the light Da Vinci shone on humanity’s potential for greatness.

5.0 out of 5 stars 'midi' size from paperblanks 14 Jun 2011
By K. Klok
This is another wonderful journal from Paperblanks. It is the 'midi' size - this is not specified anywhere on the listing of the item so thought I would include that here. It has 144 pages. The page size can fit 6" x 4" photos in (glued in). It is well made, the pages are gorgeous to write on and the magnetic clasp on the front keeps the journal closed well. The cover is embossed with the pattern of Da Vinci's drawings. Overall it is once again another lovely paperblanks item.

4.0 out of 5 stars CUUTE 6 Aug 2012
By Ab
Size is great for most things. Unless you want a smaller pocket type notebook or a larger a4 type, this is nicely inbetween.
The material of the cover especially is nice and gives it a cool quality.
The whole theme of davinci and his ideas realy gives the notebook life and makes it perfect, especially for someone who realy has some amazing things to put into it.
