This book is beautifully written, mixing lyrical descriptions of forests all over the world with details of how those same forests are being destroyed for the paper business. Trees in some ancient forests may have been standing for a thousand years, and then be cut down in a few seconds to make....bog roll. Or one of those napkins you take a handful of in the coffee shop, and then throw away without even using. It certainly made me think about my own paper usage, and how to reduce it in the future. And why can't all books be printed on recycled paper??
