Product Description

Product Description

A brutal attack outside a takeaway shop leaves 18-year old Lexie Groves badly injured - and her boyfriend Ashley dead. And all because a group of thugs took exception to their black clothes and piercings. After his funeral, a series of chilling visions and ominous text messages seem to suggest that Ash is still within reach. When Lexie is befriended by Finnish rock musician Jack Lane, her increasingly frightening search for the truth begins. Has Ashley come back from the dead, or is Lexie losing her sanity?

Set in Warrington, the Lake District and Finland, this is a paranormal love story for young adults.

Please note, the novel does contain some expletives and scenes of horror.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great title, great idea! 15 Feb 2012

I loved the central metaphor that gave the book its title and the fact that it was so subtly introduced. I also enjoyed the nods to another tale in this genre, 'The Tell Tale Heart.' Most impressive for a first novel and I look forward to the next!

5.0 out of 5 stars A real page turner 5 Feb 2012

It was almost impossible to put this book down until the very end - each chapter left me hungry for more. Lexie's unbearable grief when she loses Ash is only equalled by her later desperate hope that she may not have lost him after all. Every poignant and sinister twist had me completely captivated. The plot was entirely believeable - even when it entered the realms of the paranormal, at no time did if lose its credibility nor its ability to engage and enthral. More please!

A compelling and at times chilling story of a young woman's journey through grief and into realms of the paranormal. Paper Rain is original, imaginative and comtemporary. Highly recommended .

Well plotted and enjoyable. Devoured in three sittings. I would recommend this as a gripping, well written read and will definitely buy the next one when it comes out.
