5.0 out of 5 stars Fulfilling a wish of a young child 24 Oct 2004
By A Customer
Format:Board book
This is a lovely book about a little girl who asks her father to fetch the moon for her. It has great fold-outs of the very long ladder, the very high mountain, etc and finally the BIG BIG moon. The story is precious, and the only cautionery note is to only let your child read this supervised, since the fold-outs are a bit fragile, but really beautiful in real Eric Carle style.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful storyline 26 Nov 2007

My 18 month old boy simply loves the story, in particular the page which describes the actions of Monica when her father finally fulfills her wish of playing with the moon.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not great 4 Jun 2014
Format:Board book|Verified Purchase
I was excited about this book as was a big fan of The Hungry Caterpillar as a child, and wanted to share with my baby. The fold out pages are a bit cheap looking - I think the publisher could have done a better job with the book specification. Some of the fold out pages are difficult to grasp, and plain white on the back. As this is a children's book I would have expected bright colours. If this was in a book shop, and I had seen in advance, I would never have bought it. Story is just 'ok'.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely little book 6 Feb 2014
Format:Board book|Verified Purchase
Much smaller than expected but a lovely book. However the fold/flip out bits do need a delicate touch. Even a heavy handed adult could easily ruin it without meaning to. There is also glue stains/bubbles on many of the pages but its still a lovely story and the pictures are fun. Brought it for 1 delivered so can't grumble! :)

An excellent bed time book that gets your children's imagination going. My daughter is now 9 and remembers the love she had for this book when she was little.
