Actually, this book should be titled "Pants for people who've got a big bum, no bum, round tum, fat tum, small hips, huge hips, no waist, enormous waist" - in fact if you are NORMAL like the majority of us, then don't even attempt to make a pair of trousers without this book! Having had a break from dress making for around 20 years, I have decided to take it up again - mainly because I can't seem to get anything off the peg to fit my not-so-off-the-peg and nearly 50 figure, so, one saturday afternoon recently I dug out my very dated collection of 80's patterns and was horrified to find that I no longer fit into any of the sizing brackets. Like everyone else with a "maturing figure", my waist, hips and tum are all disproportionate, and this book seemed like it was going to help me get round these problems. It does. It's a lot of work and faffing around, but at the end of the day you have a re-useable perfect fit pattern (which you can preserve by sticking to iron-on interfacing) and can start to feel good about the things you make again. Sadly it's goodbye to "2 hour sewing" but the finished item will look good for years. Get this book - its a good read if nothing else!
