After spending a couple of months travelling in Oz I was rushing around Sydney looking for a few keep sakes to take home when I remembered the long flight I had to endure to Los Angeles. I asked the girl in the bookshop to pick a witty, romantic, but not too soppy book for the plane journey. She couldn't recommend this book highly enough so I bought it without even reading what it was about, as she seemed to know the type of thing I was looking for. By the time I got off the plane at the other end I felt like hopping back on just to go and thank the girl in the bookshop. I haven't laughed so much at a book in ages. You really feel for the lead character who has had a hard break-up and has ran off to Sydney to start a fresh. The twists in the story are so funny that they keep you wanting to read more and more. Some of the men are just plain weird but the good ones more than make up for the weirdo's. The first page gives such a true reflection of how a lot of us look at these hunky Ozzie blokes who live on a 'ranch', but the lives of the characters are so extreme and bizarre. You feel like screaming at her wanting to let her know about the Perfect man who is right in front of her, but she just doesn't see him. This book not only took me right back to Sydney, but made me quiver with the thought of those hunky Ozzie men!! : )
