Product Description

Prior to the arrival of Incantation, the indigenous music of South America in general and The Andes in particular remained relatively unknown outside that continent. The BBC television programme Flight Of The Condor changed all of that, giving widespread exposure to the panpipe music of South America. The fact that the group who provided the haunting music were all British didn t appear to matter, and within weeks Forbes Henderson (guitar), Tony Hinnigan (quenas, sikus, tarka, percussion, guitar, guitarron and pinkillo), Simon Rogers (charango, guitar, tiple and percussion), Chris Swithinbank (sikus, voice guitar, guitar and guitarron) and Mike Taylor (quenas, sikus, anata and bombo) were enjoying hit albums and singles. This album is a re-issue of their most successful release Cacharpaya, which sold more than 100,000 copies first time around.

Not as good as the original Lp that I have, but still its good to listen to.
Don't have a record player any more, but well worth the money.
Always liked Incantaion, shame I can't afford to go to South America.
Give it a try, you might like it.

This album, like many of the others produced by Incantation is a fusion of European and traditional South-American tunes that involve the use of panpipes. Most of the tracks are instrumental. Others involve singing in Spanish.

This album is the perfect way to relax, possibly while reading a book.

This is a recording I had years ago, and mislaid. I had forgotten how much I love this soulful music.

Discovered this album year ago on an old cassette of my Dad's (was the B-side to his 'Bat Out of Hell' cassette, both of which had been 'borrowed' from LPs in the 80's). Loved hearing this again without the crackling and hissing.

The music is really beautiful and something very different to what most music lovers are used to.

My mum had this on cassette back in the 90s and i loved it. It sounds as good now as it did back then. Great music to chill out to. Every track is beautiful and unique. Im not a fan of those panpipe 'covers' of songs by elton john or titanic etc and this has none of this. Great album.
