Prior to the arrival of Incantation, the indigenous music of South America in general and The Andes in particular remained relatively unknown outside that continent. The BBC television programme Flight Of The Condor changed all of that, giving widespread exposure to the panpipe music of South America. The fact that the group who provided the haunting music were all British didn t appear to matter, and within weeks Forbes Henderson (guitar), Tony Hinnigan (quenas, sikus, tarka, percussion, guitar, guitarron and pinkillo), Simon Rogers (charango, guitar, tiple and percussion), Chris Swithinbank (sikus, voice guitar, guitar and guitarron) and Mike Taylor (quenas, sikus, anata and bombo) were enjoying hit albums and singles. This album is a re-issue of their most successful release Cacharpaya, which sold more than 100,000 copies first time around.

This album, like many of the others produced by Incantation is a fusion of European and traditional South-American tunes that involve the use of panpipes. Most of the tracks are instrumental. Others involve singing in Spanish.
This album is the perfect way to relax, possibly while reading a book. Tony Hawken

Short review,have to say I was disappointed with the product,too much vocalisation on the disc for what it was and really the music itself seemed to have too modern a feel about it whereas I was expecting something a bit more profound.
