2 of 2 people found the following review helpful By S. Owadally on 1 July 2005
Format: Audio CD
If you've heard of this band, you've probably heard them compared to The Libertines and Razorlight. But I promise that that is solely based on their dress-sense and the fact that their name is synonomous with London, birthplace of The Libertines and Razorlight; well, lead singer Johnny Borrell at least.
In fact, if I were to compare this band's style to anyone's, it'd be The Strokes'. However, forget comparisons because they have their own style and quality.
"Panic Attack" combines superb and well-structured guitars with throat-ripping vocals and powerful lyrics ("You wanna die/Go on/Commit suicide"). They're not all that new. They apparently performed near me in Cardiff at the end of 2004 and have done some support sets for Babyshambles. But I think they're just entering the musical world properly.
This single is superb. Nothing less. Forget all the comparisons and just buy this and judge it. I think you'll like it.
