Will not install properly. Downloaded supposed 'fix' from their website and this also does not run. To top it all the Uninstall programme will also not run, leaving my hard drive clogged with their files. All this time my computer is exposed to attack. Hope others have better luck but what faith can you have in a so-called security product that doesn't work first time.

Internet security software can often be problematic and I would advise any potential purchaser to first visit the website of the company concerned and download a demo version of the product first. They almost all offer trial versions and they can be used to fully test the software for several weeks prior to purchase. A program that works well for one user may cause endless problems for another and so it is always best to check first.
I would certainly advise doing so with this new offering from Panda.
Firstly I was pleased to find that the software was quick and easy to install and when after a few days I came to remove it I found it equally easy to uninstall.
The interface is simple and uncluttered and with none of the secondary screens that rival products appear so keen on. There seem to be fewer options offered than with some other products but that is by no means a bad thing as too many security suites are massively over engineered and pointless complicated . However, the power user may prefer a more detailed and advanced set of options.
This suite offers nothing that I have not seen in its rivals: anti virus, firewall, Gaming mode, Email monitoring, identity protection, web censorship, local and remote backup. It also offers features that many people will not want or that can be found better implemented or for free elsewhere: such as file encryption and system tweaking. The main claim to fame of Panda is that it offers a cloud based and non invasive file scanning that claims to reduce system slowdown. This was not my experience. A statement by Anonymous, who hacked Panda on 7 March 2012, alleged that there was a "backdoor" in this product. I don't know whether that is true, but you might want to do a quick Google search to check it out, before buying.

I have been using Panda over the last 10 years and it gets better each year. The global security 2012 is by far the best internet security that I have ever used.

This was easy enough to navigate if you know the 'language' to use & if not it takes a little time personalise everything the way that works best for you.
It wasn't too bad on using the resources of my laptop and installed ok. It just is not very exciting. It also didn't make anything crash or fall over which is better than some but it wasn't as intuitive or as quick as it could be.
So this is very handy for the home network that has NAS drives, a SMART TV, web connected console(s) as it covers a range conected devices.

This software was installed on a Vista 32-bit with latest updates. Kaspersky had been previously on the machine, and was successfully remove before the install.
Panda installed fine, as least I think it did. It hung at one point for several minutes with no HDD accessing. Eventually it completed and everything seems okay.
As for the program itself, it does almost everything you could want, and seems very equal to the other software at this pricepoint. However, it has certainly slowed down my PC, particularly when having everything active and scanning. For this reason alone I would not buy it.

So the first thing I noticed when I began installing this product is that it has a nice icon of a panda at the top of the window. The next thing I noticed is that it didn't automatically uninstall my previous security software like G-data had done before (my previous protection software) so I had to do that manually.
Once I'd done that leaving my computer unprotected I installed Panda. It prompted me to save the latest version direct from the web rather than the CD but my activation key meant that I didn't have to pay extra to do that.
The other thing I noticed when reading through all the material is that Panda is always up to date because it constantly updates the software if any new viruses infiltrate somewhere across the world. I don't know if that is standard practice across all protection softwares but it seemed pretty neat to me.
However now having had Panda for a few months I can see that it causes my computer to be slower than my previous protection software, like when watching online videos for example. It isn't massively slow by all means, just slower.
But I haven't been attacked by any computer viruses yet so I guess it is ok.
