I chose this because it was rated as a Which? Best Buy and because it was the smallest of their choices - my kitchen is tiny. It's been a success. It was even smaller than I'd expected and takes up very little of my precious worktop space but its oven is big enough for full sized plates and dishes. It's a bit of a Tardis! It is very powerful, don't even think about giving it another minute on HIGH just in case.....
It's easy to clean, no fiddly nooks or crannies, and the instructions are clear and concise. The "normal" oven works efficiently and the grill looks weird - you have to put in a wee tray on legs - but it's effective. So you don't need a toaster.
A good gadget all round and splendidly compact.

I chose this item as represented very good value and that it was a best buy in a Which survey 2010.

I chose this item and make because it was to replace a 12 year old Panasonic microwave, if it lasts as long as my last one it will have earned its honours. If it does not I will amend the review.

I chose a white one because unlike stainless, it does not suffer from finger marks and it fits in with my kitchen.

I chose this item because I believed it was designed for men! For instance the first two programme buttons are:
1: CURRY
2: CHINESE

I chose this item because it has a `CHAOS' defrost button. Yes `CHAOS', that word gives it muscle, just like calling a babies push chair an `All Terrain 3 wheeler with outdoor attachments and puncture resistant tyres!' It appeals to men.

I chose this item because my wife said this is the one we are going to have and she demanded a Panasonic. If I had got anything else I would be making my own tea with it in the garage.

It is actually very good, works well, easy to clean, compact, energy saving and looks good. I have not changed my mind after road testing it for two weeks, at this price it is very good value for money.

My only gripe (my wife's actually) is that the timer buttons do not allow you to program individual seconds unlike our last one. The minimum input is 10 second intervals, she insisted I put this in the review but really it's no hardship.

The Panasonic Slimline Combination Microwave oven was purchased to replace an 8yr old Belling Combination oven, that had been a
well used item, until the convection oven stopped working.
It was a very good price from Amazon and arrived very quickly,It looked neat and modern on the worktop, but when cooking on convection.
Which is a normal oven, even though the oven was preheated. within a short time the top of the food (pie, tart etc ) was burnt black
if it had been left for the reccomended time I guess there could have been a fire? I contacted Panasonic and they explained that on this
and some other combination microwave ovens the heating source for the convection oven was the grill and to avoid burning the top of some
types of food you would need to shield the food with foil.
I replied to panasonic that this had not been advertised and if it had been I would have chosen a different oven, but recieved no reply
I then contacted Amazon who told me to send it back at their expense for a refund.

Have had this for a couple of months only, so at bit early to test reliability. So far, so good. It replaced the earlier model of this combi, which lasted 4 years, which replaced a similar Panasonic combi which lasted 10 years. They don't make 'em like they used to, but I am hoping it lasts a fair time, bearing in mind these items are getting cheaper, but do appear a little less sturdy. The only difference with this one is that on combi you have to heat up the oven, then add the weight and then cook,, whereas previously you pressed say 'Chicken', the weight and it cooked from start to finish. Now you have to go back to it when it's reached it's optimum heat - probably safer!
Operationally, what it says it does it does! If you don't mind White then it's fine, but no other colours. Looks clean and crisp. Inside it is brighter than my last one, so cleaning is easier 'cos it's easier to see any spills/splatters.

This is the updated version of the NN-A554W according to Panasonic with mainly tiny cosmetic differences, and indeed the instruction manual for this cooker includes the A554W (strangely a few £s dearer at the time of writing this review).

I can only reiterate all the good remarks made in respect of the A554W and after trying out the various modes and combinations, it gets a full 5 stars in every respect. Looks good, very generous size and a top performance,

For those people who claimed that the glass plate broke in use, - did they read the manual and use the metal plate over the glass one when using the convection facility?

An excellent purchase and after wasting time buying and returning a Daewoo combination oven (see my review for the KOC901T) I'm very happy with this one, and as a fan of Panasonic products I'm hoping it's not going to let me down.

i have had 3 'combination' microwaves - all Panasonic. the last one served me very well indeed - at least 12 years!! the 'combination' types were expensive in those days £400. Last month i had to reluctantly buy a new microwave as my 'old faithful' began to 'arc and smell'. I chose Pansonic 'combination' again but this time Amazon were the cheapest of all - i couldn't believe it. i have had this one for about 5 weeks and it is much smaller than my previous ones and i had my doubts whether it would be as good as it was much cheaper, but i am glad to say does the job fantastically. Only regret i have - as with my last one - when i cook joint of beef on 'combination', the fat splatters so much that it is a major 'clean up' job but i will try a 'roasting bag' next time to see if that cuts down the splattering. otherwise, great - jacket potatoes .... yum....
