Panasonic's newly developed High Sensitivity Sensor portrays brightly lit scenes beautifully, and also captures dimly lit scenes with crisp, bright images and minimal noise. It produces stunning images in all kinds of situations, such as shooting indoors and at night. Because the pixels of this sensor are densely aligned, Intelligent Resolution Technology can be used when the Intelligent 46x Zoom exceeds the optical 21x zoom level, while maintaining the HD pixel count for high-powered zoom shots with incredible beauty.
The HC-V700 feature a 28mm wide-angle* setting and ultra-telephoto Intelligent 46x Zoom. The 28mm wide-angle* is especially convenient for recording indoors or in tight spaces. It makes it possible to shoot at a close distance from the subject while fitting both the subject and the surrounding area into the frame. The Intelligent Zoom incorporates the Image Processing LSI "Crystal Engine PRO", a super-high resolution technology to achieve ultra-telephoto 46x shooting beyond the optical zoom range of 21x. * 35mm camera equivalent.
HYBRID O.I.S. + uses five-axis correction to thoroughly suppress blurring all the way from wide-angle shots to powerful zoom shots. It also achieves superb effects when shooting while walking. This lets the user capture crisp, clear images, without blurring, in almost every shooting situation. This revolutionary five-axis correction function corrects the kind of roll direction hand-shake that often occurs when shooting while walking, in addition to horizontal, vertical, yawing, and pitching four-axis correction.
1080/50p recording (Full-HD 1920 x 1080, 50 progressive recording) at a 28-Mbps bit rate conveys about twice the information of 1080i (interlace) recording to produce ultimately beautiful image quality. It minimizes afterimages and flickering caused by subject motion, and renders crisp, detailed images with smooth-looking motion even when shooting a fast-moving subject in a sports event. The progressive recording fully complies with the new AVCHD Progressive standard.
The Crystal Engine PRO instantly processes the huge amount of data that goes into Full-HD images, and further enhances Full-HD quality. It produces smooth, high-resolution zoom shots even when the range exceeds the limit for optical zooming. Crystal Engine PRO clearly delineates even the tiniest details of your subject, with extremely natural beauty. In addition, its Noise Reduction (NR) technology has been completely redesigned. The low-frequency noise that occurs when recording in dim lighting has been further minimized. Compared to previous Panasonic models, noise has been reduced by approximately 40%.* And Intelligent Resolution Technology ensures sharp and crisp pictures, resulting in bright and beautifully colored motion images.

3D images can be taken with the HC-V700 by simply mounting a 3D Conversion Lens.* Even scenes that have already been watched several times take on a fresh new excitement with the lifelike depth, texture and leaping effects of 3D. And even without mounting the 3D Conversion Lens, images shot in 2D can be converted to 3D by the image processing of the new 2D to 3D Conversion Function for viewing on a TV. * The optional set of VW-CLT2 3D Conversion Lens and Step-up Ring are required for shooting 3D images.
Images that were shot in 2D without using the 3D Conversion Lens can be easily transformed into 3D images with the 2D to 3D Conversion function. Simply connect the camcorder to a 3D-compatible TV with an HDMI cable. The 2D to 3D Conversion function then uses the image processing capability of the engine to convert 2D images into 3D. This is an easy, casual way to enjoy the excitement of 3D.
Recorded 3D data can be saved onto a DVD by simply connecting the V700/V700M to an optional DVD burner with a USB cable and pressing a button. You can also use an AVCHD-compatible recorder to save data onto a Blu-ray Disc or DVD
To play back 3D videos, simply insert an SD Memory Card in the slot of a Panasonic VIERA 3D TV.* Or you can use an HDMI mini cable to connect the camcorder to a VIERA 3DTV or another 3D TV that is compatible with the side-by-side method. Playback is also possible through an AVCHD-compatible player/recorder.*** Some models of VIERA 3D TV may require a firmware update to play 3D images from an SD card.
** If the player/recorder is not 3D compatible, you need to set the 3D mode on the TV manually.
*** To play the content with a recorder, the data must be copied to an HDD.
The easy-to-view 7.5 cm/3.0" wide LCD screen allows intuitive fingertip touch-operation. When shooting, you can use Touch Zoom to instantly zoom in and out by simply touching your fingertips, and Touch Shutter to automatically focus when shooting still images by simply touching the subject on the screen. For playback, you can also change thumbnail pages by sliding a fingertip across the screen. You get smooth, intuitive operation and don't have to take your eyes off of the LCD screen.
